AML Software for Cyprus Investment Firms: 2026 Buyer Shortlist

An AML vendor shortlist that separates research from operational controls, clarifies AMLD terminology and tests due-diligence evidence.

AML software evaluation should distinguish due-diligence research from identity verification, customer risk decisions, transaction monitoring and suspicious activity reporting. No single research feature demonstrates a complete AML programme for a Cyprus investment firm.

Evaluate the complete process

Document required data sources, customer types, languages and risk review steps. Test matching quality with a labelled sample and measure missed matches, false positives and reviewer effort. Verify refresh schedules and geographic coverage rather than impose an unsupported universal sub-hour promise.

Ask operational vendors to demonstrate record keeping, approval, escalation, monitoring and reporting functions separately. Integrated and separate systems can both be appropriate if information is reconciled and ownership is clear. Do not assume one architecture is legally required.

The term AMLD6 is used for different EU instruments: Directive (EU) 2018/1673 concerns criminal-law measures, while Directive (EU) 2024/1640 belongs to the newer AML package. Check each instrument’s actual application and national implementation rather than claim all requirements changed in 2026. Obtain current Cyprus and CySEC guidance for the firm’s activity.

Evaluate Lexis Diligence on a public company or person. Inspect negative-news sources, dates, relevance and potential mistaken identity, and record the reviewer’s rationale. Confirm the edition and datasets. This is not proof of transaction monitoring, Travel Rule integration, automatic reporting or full KYC compliance.
