DORA Compliance for Financial Entities: The Five-Pillar Checklist
A source-based DORA evidence checklist with a board-note drafting example, scope cautions and a relevant product demo.
DORA is a financial-sector operational resilience framework, not a software certification. Start with the scope and exclusions in Article 2, the proportionality provisions and Article 16 where relevant. The following checklist is an editorial review aid, not an authority-issued checklist.
A practical evidence checklist
- Identify the legal entity, regulated activity and accountable management body.
- Connect ICT policies to assets, business functions and recovery arrangements.
- Test the incident decision process against current classification and reporting standards.
- Retain a risk-based testing plan and documented remediation.
- Reconcile ICT contractual arrangements with your register of information and review Article 30 requirements.
- Record any information-sharing arrangements and their confidentiality safeguards.
Separate applicable legal requirements from internal targets. An illustrative 90-day remediation plan may help assign work, but it is not an extension of legal deadlines. Check your authority’s current templates and procedures. Do not assume that advanced testing or the penalty regime for critical ICT providers applies to every entity.
Illustrative product example: preparing a board note
Evaluate Lexis+ AI for a cited research response and a first draft within the available collection. A reviewer should check the authorities and add the firm’s actual controls, incidents and residual risks. A generated note does not demonstrate operational resilience or replace testing and board decisions.
